Welcome to One Steady Step. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the onesteadystep.com website and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing onesteadystep.com, creating an account, or using any part of our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and One Steady Step. 2. Description of Service
One Steady Step provides trail diaries, route beta, gear reviews, and hiking-related content for experienced hikers, backpackers, and trail runners. Our content is based on firsthand experience accumulated over more than a decade of time spent in the mountains. The Service includes written articles, route information, gear assessments, and community features available through onesteadystep.com.
We strive to provide accurate and reliable information, but the Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Trail conditions, weather, and other factors change constantly, and users must exercise their own judgment and take responsibility for their safety in the backcountry.
3. User Accounts and Responsibilities
Certain features of One Steady Step may require you to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. One Steady Step will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information. You may not use another person's account without permission, and you may not transfer your account to another person without our prior written consent.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account on onesteadystep.com. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

The One Steady Step name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of One Steady Step or its affiliates or licensors. You must not use such marks without our prior written permission. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on the Service are the trademarks of their respective owners.
You may access and use the Service only for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Service, except as follows: your computer may temporarily store copies of such materials in RAM incidental to your accessing and viewing those materials; you may store files that are automatically cached by your web browser for display enhancement purposes; and you may print or download one copy of a reasonable number of pages of the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use and not for further reproduction, publication, or distribution.
6. User Content

We do not warrant or make any representations regarding the use or the results of the use of the Service in terms of its correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise.
Outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, and trail running carry inherent risks. The information provided on onesteadystep.com is based on personal experience and observation, but trail conditions, weather, and other factors change constantly. You assume full responsibility for your safety and well-being when engaging in outdoor activities. Always check current conditions, prepare appropriately, and use your own judgment. One Steady Step is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur as a result of using information from our Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will One Steady Step, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (c) any content obtained from the Service; (d) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content; or (e) any injuries, accidents, or losses incurred during outdoor activities undertaken based on information from the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.
In no event will our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service exceed the greater of one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us, if any, in the past twelve months for access to the Service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless One Steady Step, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your User Content; (d) your violation of any rights of another; or (e) any injuries, accidents, or losses you incur during outdoor activities.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or contact us to request account deletion.
All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including without limitation ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which One Steady Step is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in the applicable jurisdiction, and the parties hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.
You agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve any dispute informally before initiating any formal proceedings. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect by posting a notice on onesteadystep.com or sending you an email notification. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorized to use the Service.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by us on the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and One Steady Step concerning the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings and agreements, whether written or oral, regarding the Service.
